PERANAN BAITUL MAL KABUPATEN PIDIE DALAM PEMBERDAYAAN EKONOMI PEDAGANG KECIL KOTA SIGLI

Abstract

The structure of Indonesian society, which is dominated by communities with low education and lack of capital, makes very little choice for economic activities. For those who have entered working age, one type of work that is possible to do is to work or open jobs in the small business sector while not requiring large amounts of capital (due to the relatively low intensity of the technology used), also requiring a high level of workforce skills. Without realizing it, this choice of economic activity has now become a very large absorber of labor in Indonesia. The role of micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) is in fact constrained by several things, including capital problems. This is where the Baitul Mal Pidie district with its economic empowerment program is expected to be the ideal solution for empowering small businesses, especially small traders in the city of Sigli. Therefore, this study wants to examine how the shape and impact of economic empowerment by the Baitul Mal Pidie District on small traders in the city of Sigli. The methodology used in this study is qualitative research with a naturalistic qualitative approach and descriptive analytical. The process of this research is field research. Collecting data with interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study are known that the Baitul Mal KabuaptenPidie in distributing business capital assistance in the form of productive information to two forms of assistance, namely 1) cash capital assistance (cash money), 2) material assistance. As for the impact of economic empowerment from productive infaqthat has been given by the Baitul Mal Pidie district to the small traders of Sigli, it can help develop their businesses a little.
