Abstract

Engaging in buying and selling activities must be based on Islamic principles that emphasize justice for all parties, without anyone feeling oppressed, whether it be Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) or buyers. In Samalanga City, MSMEs are expected to manage and develop their businesses professionally in accordance with the principles of Islamic economics, in order to avoid a sales system that follows capitalist principles. This research is qualitative phenomenological and descriptive in nature. The results of the study show that the development of small businesses, especially street vendors in Samalanga City, has adhered to the principles of Islam in all aspects of trade, from processing products to marketing processes. Street vendors have also implemented various business development strategies that align with Islamic teachings. One of the most prominent strategies employed by street vendors is product diversification to make it more attractive. They also tidy up their sales locations and provide the best service to customers by following the principles of greetings and interactions (salam and sapa), as well as offering affordable prices for all segments of society. In developing their micro-businesses, street vendors in Samalanga City have followed strategies that align with Islamic teachings.
